Codes // Codes House Remix EP

Codes caught the world's attention with his EP "Codes House" that debuted on Slow Roast back in April. Since then, he's been spending all of his time on the road and in the studio working on new original material and adding to his catalog of remix work. Somehow in the midst of all this madness, he managed to put together one of our favorite releases on Slow Roast to date, the "Codes House Remix EP"! It features 6 remixes from some of the scenes brightest rising stars including the man himself, Codes! The record embraces and defies many genres all at the same time making this a particularly interesting release. There's plenty of ammunition for the clubs, but the record is still listenable at home, this is what we strive for with all of our releases on Slow Roast. This record is another testament to Codes ability as a producer and also a visionary when it comes to the direction of dance music as a whole. He's brought together some great up and coming artists to further blur the lines between genres. Again, one of our favorite releases to date! Hope ya'll enjoy, and PLEASE give us some feedback and quotes! This would really help us out!

Bloody Beetroots // Church Of Noise (Diplo + Congorock Remixes)

Italy's favourite purveyors of electronic nonsense The Bloody Beetroots have commissioned two more of EDM's noisiest lunatics, Congorock and Diplo, to remix their latest offering "Church Of Noise". Released a couple of days ago on Ultra, both mixes maintain the Beetroot's defining sense of raw mayhem, though in very different ways. Diplo again blows our musical sense of right and wrong out of the water with his tripled up, wacked out stomp session. Congorock however, takes the more audibly acceptable route with a throbbing electro/progressive number. Check out both mixes and let us know what you think.

Avicii // Levels (Cazzette's NYC Mode Bootleg)

Swedish lads Cazzette have been pushing some rather large electro cuts the past year and earning themselves quite a bit of attention in the process. Having remixed David Guetta, Spencer & Hill, Swedish House Mafia and Avicii already this year, it seems only natural that they now add their distortion-heavy touch to 2011's biggest record. Premiering last week on Annie Mac's BBC1 slot, the oddly titled bootleg is sure to find mass airplay with DJ's and crowds more heavily inclined. Some clever gating/pitch work accentuate the massive chords in the buildup and a stomping 2-step break keep things interesting all the while paying full respect to the absolutely sublime Etta James vocal sample. With work like this, expect to hear Cazzette continue their run of big name edits well into 2012.

Jesse Rose // Made For The Night Documentary

UK house legend slash Made To Play boss man Jesse Rose recently allowed budding filmmakers Tyler & Jack to follow him around with a camera during his "Made For The Night" European tour. The resulting footage has just now been released as a documentary to coincide with the release of a double cd compilation of the same name. As expected some priceless and truly personal moments were captured on the man's latest adventure taking the viewer deep inside the world of an artist on the road. An invigorating ten minutes to say the least. Check it out in full HD here.

Duck Sauce // Big Bad Wolf (REMIXES)

Just in time for the Australian festival season, Fool's Gold Records have dropped the much anticipated "Big Bad Wolf Remixes". The mixed bag of musical beasts come from some of EDM's biggest names with DJ Craze & Codes workin the moombah, Toddla T bringing the low-end love and Sweden's electro maniacs Dada Life rounding out the (wolf)pack. I believe the original, as with most remix packs, hit the nail on the head, though from these newer versions a personal fave would probably have to go to Craze & Codes' wobbled up tropical bass number. Some typically intelligent re-grooves and some cheeky pitch work on the "hoooowwwwl" sample take this festival favourite to a whole new dimension of dancefloor fun. Available now through Beatport, you can also grab the Craze & Codes for free by simply hitting the "like" on Duck Sauce's Facebook fanpage

What So Not // Seven Dollar Bill EP

Probably my favourite Aussie production outfit of 2011. What So Not are causing a serious stir among DJ's, producers and promoters worldwide. Blending tech, tropical and bass vibes with super slick house beats to create a flavour so delicious it just cant be argued with. This EP is a perfect example of the seemingly ridiculous praise i just laid down in their honour. Sexy, groovy and bold - it hits all the right notes whether your a clubbing veteran or a fresh faced electro loving, tight jean-wearing rookie show-pony... With support from Bag Raiders, Andy George, Douster, Sinden & Boys Noize to name a few, this is surely a defining EP for Australian dance music in 2011 and one not to be missed. Out now on Beatport via Sweat It Out.

Crookers // Hummus (Maribou State Remix)

The good people at Southern Fried Records recently decided to give away this amazing tropically-tinged Maribou State Remix of Hummus from Crookers' much hyped "Dr Gonzo" LP. Maribou State are mysterious duo out of London blending beautiful tech, tropical and bass sounds to create incredibly warm and soulful dancefloor vibes. Though relatively new to the scene, these guys are fast making waves in the currently stormy bass music seas having recently supported the likes of SBTRKT & Toddla T at Bournemouth's Block Party and hosting a weekly show on SubFM. Squiz their loaded Soundcloud and Facebook pages for a taste of the other magic these lads are currently putting out.

Freshly picked peak-time weapon from The Zone AKA Sydney's Dave Winnel & Will Reckless on the collab. Moby's iconic string masterpiece blended with a healthy concoction of electro and bigroom vibes. Grab your free DL and be sure to show these lads some love on their respective Soundcloud pages. Definately 2 of Australia's finest young house producers.

LBL & SVD // Who's Wearing The Cap (A-Trak Remix) Preview

There is no slowing down Sander van Doorn who recently reached the epic 100 episode milestone of his weekly Identity show, as well as following his huge artist album “Eleve11” which was released in September, while standing strong at the #16 spot on DJ Mag’s top 100 DJ’s!
Just the sight of these two names together gives me the chills, as it should in the whole edm community! ‘Who’s Wearing The Cap‘ is a killer track where trance meets progressive, and blends into electro bringing both worlds together! How did this collaboration come into existence? Well, many people thought that both Laidback Luke & Sander van Doorn looked alike, and there was a discussion of people trying to guess “who’s wearing the cap“, Luke or Sander? This later brought both superstars together to create the next floor smasher “Who’s Wearing The Cap“! Personally I can't wait for A-trak's insanely funky remix to drop. Its probably his biggest work since his unbelievable "Heads Will Roll" remix for The Yeah Yeah Yeah's a couple years back. Until then though, check the preview clip out and grab a copy of the original while you watch...

Dirty South & Thomas Gold // Alive (Dylan Sanders Remix)

Adelaide legend and FSSBlog supporter Dylan Sanders just dropped this cheeky party breaks remix of  2011's biggest tune, choosing to ever so graciously give it away to y'all rather than enter it into the potentially lucrative Phazing Records Remix Competition. Keeping with those fundamentally massive chords from the original - it then swings into some tangy electro breaks followed an utterly sick dubstep break. The perfect edit for those who like to keep their sets fresh yet funky.

Diplo // Horsey (Noy Remix)

Local player Noy's entry into the recent Mad Decent Remix Competition. Super tidy...
